** DIFFERENT DAY ** Work + Life Book Group In-Person
This month, we'll be reading Brené Brown's "Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone."
Belonging so fully to yourself that you're willing to stand alone is a wilderness - an untamed, unpredictable place of solitude and searching. This can be at work or in your personal life. Who do we look to for inspiration? Who are the brave innovators and disrupters in our field? When we think about our families, are we creating a culture where everyone feels safe enough to reality-check the stories we make up when we're in "struggle"?
Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston and also holds the position of Professor of Practice in Management at the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy.
We'll be meeting 1 week earlier than our usual meeting date because the Library will be closed for the Veteran's Day Holiday.
